CONGRATS TO THE RECIPIENTS!
Each Spring a group of Joe's family and closest friends come together to review the stack of scholarship entries. We all look forward to this gathering, where we inevitably share our favorite Joe stories as we talk about each of the candidates. We look for kids that possess the qualities that we all so admired in Joe: love of life, adventurous spirit, kindness, authenticity, humor, sensitivity . . . and usually not excellent grades. Here's a listing of the 23 scholarships, totaling $20,000 since we began the memorial in 2000.
